SPECIAL POST - READ THESE NOW

Then read them again. Then re-read them tomorrow morning after they percolates a little. This is the fate the Obamunists have in mind for us all... the total sapping of individuality, the top-down, elitist, we-know-better-than-you approach of all the eggheads that, throughout history, have imposed on society after society. All for your own good, because they mean well.

Remember, they MEAN WELL. They have GOOD INTENTIONS. Then read this:

Utopia: The End of Men, Sweden, and the Progressive Endgame http://www.redstate.com/thesophist/2010/06/13/utopia-the-end-of-men-sweden-and-the-progressive-endgame/

There are any number of thoughts in this, but pay attention to these two quotes:

First one:

As Lenin's vision of a communist revolution depended upon intellectuals who would educate the proletarian workers as to their true interests, ultimately becoming the political system of Party insiders and everyone else so richly mocked by Animal Farm, so does modern Progressivism rely upon and ultimately become a game of noblesse oblige wherein the enlightened leadership has to go ahead of the ignorant public.

Just listen to Kerry, Gore, Obama, et al talking about cap-and-trade, or the VAT, or health care. We proles can't be trusted to make the "right" choices, so they will force us. At first, through recommendations, then regulations, then by outright law they will MAKE US obey for our own good - as determined by them.

Second quote:

Furthermore, the Progressive vision is less concerned about individual free will and far more interested in society as a whole.

Communism. Fascism. All these have one central element: the individual serves the state, not the other way around.

As the Obamunists prepare to enslave, er, regulate us for our own good, because of their intellectually-fueled beneficence, remember this one last quote from CS Lewis:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
